| Bio: | Character Profile: Name: Spike (aka William the Bloody) Age: c. 120 (as a vampire) Height: 5'9½" Point taken from canon timeline, or nature of AU-ness: Buffy season 4, just after escaping from the Initiative. Brief Personality Description: Thinks of himself as the Big Bad, but has trouble pulling it off. His impatience tends to ruin his plans. Quite a softie underneath everything. Forms incredibly strong attachments to anyone who seems to need him. Currently, he's pissed off, scared, and starving hungry. Brief History: William the Bloody Awful Poet was a young Victorian gentleman who got turned into a vampire in 1880 by Drusilla (who had been turned herself by Angelus in 1860). The three of them and Angelus' sire, Darla, wreaked havoc across the world until Angelus got cursed with his soul by gypsies in 1898 and started calling himself Angel and brooding a lot. Darla went off to do her own thing, but Spike remained with Drusilla right up until their arrival in Sunnydale in 1997 (Buffy season 2). Soon after their arrival, Angel lost his soul again and there was a bit of a power struggle between him and Spike, who was inconveniently stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of the season and had to watch Angelus getting all friendly with his Dru. Then Buffy sent Angel (soul restored) to hell and Spike slipped away with his Drusilla. Things didn't go as planned, however. Drusilla left him for a Chaos demon, and Spike returned to Sunnydale, briefly dating a vapid young vampire named Harmony who had been at school with Buffy and the others. Then he got caught by the Initiative, a government organisation not unlike Torchwood… The Initiative have put a chip in his head which stops him from biting anyone (anyone human that is) by giving him a blinding headache if he so much as thinks about it. Spike doesn't know this yet, however. He's just escaped, he's starving hungry because he wouldn't eat the blood they gave him in there because it was drugged, and he's about to discover that he can't feed. It's going to be a tough time for our Spike. Vampire facts: Can be killed by: Wooden stake through the heart (items used in canon include chopsticks, pool cues, pencils) Beheading Fire (though it won’t kill if it can be put out before it gets too bad) Holy water (a bit sprinkled on skin will just burn, but can kill if it's drunk, for instance) A Christian cross will scare a vampire slightly and again will burn flesh if it touches, but won't kill. Spike's chip: gives him a headache if he even thinks about hurting or biting a human. Doesn't work on demons – he can hurt them just fine. Whether it works on Time Lords, Immortals, and humans with the Time Vortex stopping them dying remains to be seen… *g* It's also fairly standard fanon that Spike can feed off someone if they let him. They might even enjoy it… Note As well as being chipped, whilst in the Nexus Spike was hypnotised by one of the Masters so that he can't hurt anyone if they don't want him to.
